NCBA Bank is expanding its financial services for Kenya’s education sector, targeting schools and teachers with financing, transaction banking and digital solutions as institutions seek to modernize operations and improve learning environments.
The bank’s education sector offering covers more than 40,000 public schools across the country and is designed to support institutions with infrastructure development, working capital, asset acquisition, fee collection and digital transformation.
NCBA’s renewed focus on education comes as schools face growing demand for technology, modern infrastructure and efficient financial management. Its solutions for institutions include school fees collection platforms, cash management and payment services, working capital facilities, infrastructure financing, asset and vehicle finance, trade finance, digital banking and investment products.
The bank said the services are intended to help schools improve cash flow management, finance expansion projects and acquire equipment and technology needed to support modern learning.
NCBA is also targeting teachers through its Workplace Banking proposition, which includes salary accounts with early salary processing, salary advances, unsecured personal loans, mortgage financing, asset finance, digital banking and mobile lending services.
“Education is a cornerstone of national development, and teachers are at the heart of that transformation. At NCBA, our commitment extends beyond sponsorships and events. We have developed tailored financial solutions that support schools in their growth journeys while empowering teachers to achieve their personal and professional ambitions,” said Dennis Njau, Group Director, Retail Banking.
The bank’s education offering also extends to parents and students through savings, investment and financing solutions aimed at helping families meet education-related costs and plan for future expenses.
NCBA’s education sector strategy was highlighted through its role as Title Sponsor of the 2026 World Teachers’ Day Gala Dinner hosted by International Schools in Kenya (ISK), which brought together educators and other stakeholders to recognise the contribution of teachers to Kenya’s development.
“The education sector represents one of the most impactful areas for sustainable economic development. As schools continue to expand, digitise and invest in modern learning environments, and as teachers seek greater financial empowerment, there is a growing need for specialized banking solutions. NCBA is uniquely positioned to support this ecosystem through tailored financing, transaction banking and workplace banking solutions that enable institutions and educators to thrive,” added Dennis Njau.
The bank said supporting education is part of its broader Change the Story Agenda, which focuses on initiatives aimed at creating social and economic impact through communities and institutions.
